The McCarthy House has "one interior brick" chimney with a "rectangular 6/1" fenestration design, and a "jerkinhead" roof style.
Other significant details: "Lower half of first floor is brick, upper half and second floor are stuccoed. Main jerkinhead end has brackets and a set of four windows. 1st floor had overhanging roof with exposed rafters and brackets. The roofline is arched over entrance door. North facade has 1st floor shed roof over side entrance."

Historical background: "The original owner of this house, according to the building permit, was Mildred McCarthy. The 1918 city directory does not list a Mildred McCarthy, but does list William R.
