Eitel Hospital was founded in 1912 by Dr. George Eitel, serving wealthy residents of the city. In 1982 it became affiliated with Abbott Northwestern, and finally closed in 1985. Since then the hospital building was used by the Willow Street Center for Youth and Families, and finally by Allina for offices. In 2006 it was renovated and converted into apartments.
