This home was the residence of prominent Saint Paul attorney and writer, Charles Eugene Frandrau. Charles E. Flandrau lived here until his death in 1903. The home stayed in the family, and Blair Flandrau and his wife Grace moved back here to Blair's childhood home when Blair was dying. Blair died November 28, 1938. The house was razed about 1955.



"The Flandrau mansion at 385 Pleasant was the essence of Victorian St. Paul, but by 1940 a badly decaying neighborhood surrounded the antique structure. […] Flandrau friends remember little of the home's interior except its darkness and its two always-fire-lit libraries"
