History

uilt in 1900. The mansion is currently the location of the Alcoholics Anonymous organization of Minneapolis.

Minnesota Historical Society records indicate that John Washburn resided at this address from 1888 to 1941. The 1909 city directory indicates that John Washburn was the second vice president of the Washburn-Crosby Company and resided at this address. The 1915 city directory indicates that Mr. and Mrs. John Washburn and their daughters resided at this address. The 1923 city directory indicates that Mrs. E. H. Washburn resided at this address.

The building was formerly used as a restaurant, first as the "2218 Kitchen", and then as "Broosters."[1]
