Annice or Bernice?

Is this Bernice Keller House, 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota the Annice E. Keller House or the Bernice Keller House? On the Daytons' Bluff District Forum site it is listed as Bernice.

It is one in the same house. Bernice is really a mislable of the house. It appears that it came from someone mis-reading the hand written building permit. I have heard another theory that Bernice was a realitve but I give less credience to this suggestion since I have a copy of the building permit and no proof of an "Bernice". The house should propery be titled the Annice E Keller House or Keller Row House #8

Do you have a preference? It sounds like it would be best titled:

Keller Row - House #8, 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Did Annice Keller actually live there or was it just an investment property?

It is said that Annice E Keller herself lived here a short time after it was completed. I would prefer it titled "Annice E Keller Row House #8". That way we can retain the historical name that has been associated with it and it can also state that it is a row house.

One point of clarification, technically is it a "row house"? It is "Keller Row" but probably not a row house. I would suggest one of the following:
"Keller Row, House #8 (Annice E. Keller House), 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota"
"Keller Row, House #8, 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota"
"Annice E. Keller House, 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota"
What are your thoughts?

Yes you are probally right.
How about "Keller Row, House #8 (Annice E. Keller House, 761 6th Street East."

Done. The new title is Keller Row, House No. 8 (Annice E. Keller House), 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota
I had to use "No." instead of "#" as I was getting an unsupported character error.
Also: Would you be interested in listing the Keller houses on the Keller Row page? If you have photos even better....

Looks great! I was very honored to be selected for home of the month. Sure I would be happy to as the Kellers lived in some of the other homes as well. I don't know the history of all of them but I'll add what I have as my schedule allows.

Keller Row, House 5, 771 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Hi Notorious,

I changed Annice E Keller Row House to 771 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota. I still think the titling needs some work. It will get confusing if all the houses are listed as "Annice E Keller" besides she owned and rented the house rather than significantly lived there. However, "Herbert P. Keller", mayor of Saint Paul lived there while as mayor. It might be better to title it after him.

It can't use the "Historic District feature of the NRHP menu unless it is designated a historic district, however, it either could be considered a "neighborhood" and Keller Row could be added to the Neighborhood field. I have done this with a couple of houses and put a query on the Keller Row, Saint Paul, Minnesota page. Let me know what you think and feel free to add other Keller Row Houses to the Keller Row Neighborhood.

I had removed "Keller Row, House #1" from "Annice E. Keller House, 761 6th Street East, Saint Paul, Minnesota", and shorted it because of some problems the title was giving me not loading properly. I eventually found out that Mediawiki does not like "#" in the tiles. But I don't think having Keller Row, House "*" would be correct titling. We don't use districts or neighborhoods in any of the other building titles.

Also: I added John & Annice Keller Home, 394 Eichenwald Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota (1874-ca.1930). I figured the house is getting mentioned, it should get it's own page.

Hey Joe,

Thanks again for all your hard work! I'm so glad you added the Eichenwald Mansion. Looks great. I also like the idea of titleing 771 6th the Herbert Keller Home...I haven't done a ton of research on the house yet but as we know the kellers lived there and ran a print shop out of it. Thanks!

Howdy...

Thanks for the update on the Muller House. I was just showing your Keller pages to the Hamline History Corps the other day at a presentation to the group.

hey Joe,

Haven't been on here in awhile but glad to see you're keeping it up. I wish I had more time to devote to the site I love it! I can never get enough of building history. Hope all is well. Happy New Year!
