According to oral tradition, the three Gibbs brothers built three identical Italianate style houses, two at this location and the third on Jack Logan Road. The Thomas Gibbs House has four pairs of pillars supporting an overhanging porch roof on the front facade. Three wall gables, centered between the sets of columns, contain trefoil-shaped garret windows. On the second floor three arched windows are capped with keystoned drip molds. The slightly off-center main entrance interrupts the otherwise symmetrical facade. Corbeled chimneys project the bracketed eaves of the gable roof.
