Significant details: "Brick dormitory composed of cubic masses, projecting and receding. Single entrances on west and north facades."

Historical background: "This dormitory was constructed at an estimated cost of $475,000. It was named for George Peterson, who was born in 1902, graduated from Hamline in 1926, and became a member of the Hamline Board of Trustees in 1966. He was editor of the editorial page of the 'Minneapolis Star' newspaper for many years and is presently President Emeritus of the University (1983)."
