St. Anthony Park Saint Paul Ramsey County

The building was originally built around 1880 or so. It is approximately 94' wide by 310' deep. It was purchased by the McCann family (originally Wycliff Properties) and completely renovated in 1989-1990.

Originally built for maintenance of horse drawn street cars, that use didn't last for long, as the street car maintenance moved to Snelling Avenue. In 1989 the building was owned by Midway Machine, who sold it to the McCann family.

The name Midtown Commons was originally submitted in a contest run by the Port Authority of St. Paul for naming the "Westgate" Business Park at highway 280 and Territorial Rd. The Midtown Commons name won 2nd place, so the family thought it would make a good name for 2324 University.

The building has two original safes built into the building, which have been preserved.
