History
This house was built about 1885 for Edward H. Heimbach, a boot and shoe retailer. Heimbach, whose father was a West Side German immigrant brick mason, married Elizabeth Brueggemann in 1883. Local tradition maintains that Martin Brueggemann built the elaborate brick home for his daughter. Martin Brueggemann established the second brewery in Saint Paul.
