The first house on this lot was built in 1880 but was destroyed by fire in 1895. The present house was built for an estimated cost of $18,000. Schuneman was a partner in the retail firm of Schuneman and Evans which evolved into a major department store. The house was divided into a dozen apartments around World War II, but has been restored and now a private residence.
