Noted cartoonist Charles "Sparky" Schulz spent most of his childhood in this home. Schulz was born in Minneapolis in 1922, and his family moved to St. Paul when Charles was four years old, first living in 1680 James Avenue and then moving to this home. Schulz attended Central High School, and his father had a barber shop at Snelling and Selby.
