A brick commercial building that is a prominent part of the retail area near MacCalester College. For decades the upper floor served as the studio of the Andahazy Ballet Company, one of the earliest in the Twin Cities. The space continues to be used by the St. Paul City Ballet. The main floor, basement and adjoining addition have been used by hardware stores over the years, primarily "Ace Hardware" under several different owners.
